Dry eye disease can leave you with irritated, burning, tired eyes. It can make computer use difficult and even lead to excessively watery eyes. In short: with dry eye symptoms, your vision isn’t at its best.
But there’s hope. Visionary Eye Centre is delighted to offer quality dry eye treatments for all of our patients suffering from dry eye symptoms. Come in to find relief.
Dry eye disease is caused by issues with your tears. If you don’t have enough tears or the tear quality is subpar, you’ll likely feel irritating symptoms, including:
We can diagnose your dry eyes during an eye exam. Our optometrists use a non-invasive tool from oculus to measure your tear film’s quality and quantity. Once we have a grasp on what’s causing your dry eye and how your symptoms are affecting your life, we can pick the right treatment for you.
You don’t need to suffer from dry eye symptoms any longer. With a host of diagnostic tools and treatment options at our fingertips, the skilled team at Visionary Eye Centre is here for you. Let us share the tools to treat your dry eye and the knowledge to put them to use.
The iLux system uses gentle heat and pressure to get rid of blockages in the glands in your eyelids that provide the oily component of your tears. If these oil glands are blocked, your tears may evaporate too quickly, leaving you vulnerable to dry eyes.
The handheld iLux device has soft silicone pads to keep you comfortable while the treatment takes place. The sophisticated technology offers quick treatment—usually 8-12 minutes. After that, you’re on your way!
Sometimes dry eye symptoms can cause the eyes to over produce poor quality, watery tears. Punctal plugs are an option that keeps the eye moist by blocking tear drainage.
We can insert Punctal plugs at our office. After administering numbing drops to your eye, we’ll put the plugs into place. You may feel momentarily uncomfortable, but shouldn’t feel any pain and won’t feel the plugs once they’re in.
Depending on your unique dry eye experience, we can use temporary plugs that dissolve on their own or plugs designed to last years.
We have take-home options and expert advice that you can use in the comfort of your own home, too!
Eye masks: warm eye masks can help keep the oil glands in our eyelids working smoothly & provide dry eye relief.
