Our Story
After growing up in Edmonton and studying in the United States, two young, ambitious optometrists came home to tackle the eye care world by opening Visionary Eye Centre in 2011. Dr. Aujla and Dr. Delhon continue to operate their optometry clinic in Sherwood Park, strengthening their reputation with every patient who walks through the door. Our location was carefully selected, being one of the founding members of the Synergy Wellness Centre, a collaborative facility where Visionary could offer its own services among other health care professionals. We have built strong ties to the community and strive to provide a contemporary optometry environment for families to visit for all of their eye care needs.
Meet Our Team
Dr. Delhon
Born and raised in Edmonton, Dr. Sonia Delhon has co-owned Visionary Eye Centre since 2011, also acting as an in-house optometrist. Her education began at Concordia University, graduating with dual degrees, a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She was then accepted to the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. Dr. Delhon completed her clinical rotation in a veteran’s hospital in Connecticut, a pediatric clinic in Vancouver and a term specialized in ocular disease in Boston. During her spare time, Dr. Delhon enjoys travelling to new places, reading a great book, and playing badminton competitively.
Dr. Aujla
Dr. Navjot Aujla is a born and raised Albertan, growing up right here in Edmonton. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta, she attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia. Internship terms across the United States led Dr. Aujla to practice pediatric optometry, work at a veteran’s hospital in Connecticut, and an ophthalmology practice in New Jersey. Since 2011, Dr. Aujla has been both a co-owner and in-house optometrist at Visionary Eye Centre. She loves spending time with her family and travelling to new destinations.
Shannon Frew
Office Manager
Shannon Frew was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, she started in Eyewear in 2004 on a whim while attending postsecondary in another field. After completing her courses, she did not want to leave her part time optical job so she enrolled in Nait the following fall for Optical Sciences Eyeglasses. Shannon received awards and recognition for highest academic achievement in both years of the program. She became the manager of her store in 2010, and was with the same corporate optical company until 2017. Shannon has been at Visionary Eye Centre since early 2018 and she enjoys the building lasting relationships with patients. Shannon is the mother of 3 small children and dedicates all of her time not in the office to them.

Come visit our beautiful optometry clinic located in the heart of Sherwood Park, just east of Edmonton. We are easily accessible off of Bethel Drive, north of Baseline Road. Parking is located at the front of the Synergy Wellness Centre for $2, we ask that you kindly provide your plate number during your appointment, and we'll cover the parking fee.

Our Optometry Philosophy
From the top down, our optometry philosophy is rooted in a holistic approach to eye care at all levels. It begins with a comprehensive approach to the examination process, utilizing a wealth of modern technology and digital practices to administer preventative ocular procedures. We believe that these resources should be provided to all our patients as an all-inclusive service, an exception in our industry. Our goal is to enhance not only your vision and eye health, but fashion and style awareness as well. Our experts work with our patients from pre-test screening to when they walk out the door with a new pair of eyeglasses, sunglasses, or contact lenses. Finally, we consider total body health a key ingredient to maintaining proper vision and eye safety. Our membership at the Synergy Wellness Centre places us at the hub of the medical professional industry in Sherwood Park, allowing you to easily access all the services that will benefit your well-being.
